What a great place. Was able to come in first thing and was loaded in 45 minutes. Plenty of room to maneuver and everyone one was super nice.
It was a nice experience for my little one to see the hot sauce factory! We bought Tabasco hot sauce that we couldn’t find at the grocery stores in the gift shop. They had great collections of kitchen items for souvenirs.
From hwy 90 take hwy14S. No direct access to LA329 from 90. Drive to the end of the road ~6miles. It'll seem strange. Drive through tiny guard shack, Tabasco is first left. Follow signs. Very nice people. Easy access to docks. Fast unload. Not sure about overnight parking, but there are several truck stops on 90W. If you're nice, they'll give you a cpl sample bottles.
My experiences is a of a totally different nature. Though I live by Avery Island and get to see and experience is one of a kind nature on a weekly basis. I tour the waterways as seek out the redfish and catfish. We have a class A Estuary for the growth and reproduction of these two species. If you enjoy fishing I highly recommend leaving from Avery Island dock.
Great for kids, it's worth the extra money to check out the garden tours but give yourself a couple of hours as your likely to want to get lost discovering all the different trees and life in the swampy island garden. This place is unique in every since of the word enjoy your time there as its one of a kind.
I posted a more complete review under the camera icon in google maps.
This place is an incredible experience with well-kept grounds and knowledgeable staff and lots of relics and artifacts to verify the history of the property. There is a wonderful Tabasco gift shop and another gift shop as well. Overall I spent $125 for a three and a half hour visit the money was spent in the gift shop mostly and $25 was spent to tour the entire property. The only reason that I give four stars instead of five is because the restaurant was closed for a board members party. My visit was April 27th 2019 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. I recommend the trolling of this location and I would return myself for future visits.
This is a great place to spend some time. Here, you will be able to tour the Tabasco factory, hear more of the history behind the brand, and taste new products and recipes. All in all, a great way to spend a few hours doing something really enjoyable. Oh, you can also stop by the factory store before you leave.
We were in the area and not sure what to do, a friend suggested this tour. At first I thought... boring. But I was wrong. The staff was friendly and the video was informative. We sadly missed seeing the plant work as they close up at 4 and when we went through the plant was dark and everyone had left. Still enjoyed! Then we went to the store where we sampled Tabasco Ice Cream... (yikes) and Tabasco soda (double yikes!).... Each of us liked it and it was actually kind of fun! Its a dollar to get on Avery Island and well worth it!
